MTSI Lab Manager – Merced
Ability to oversee and perform laboratory and field testing and reporting for all soils and concrete in accordance with approved plans and specifications for each assigned project, and other tests as assigned. Oversee/peer review all lab work performed by technicians. Perform field work on occasional to part time basis. Must be completely familiar with all procedures and test methods. Responsible for reviewing lab test results and routing to proper management for approval and/or peer review. Repairs, maintains, and purchases field equipment, as needed. Submit timely, all required documentation for billing review process.
Certified Welding Inspector – Stockton
As a fully qualified Certified Welding Inspector, you will be capable of field and laboratory work to support the Materials Testing and Special Inspection (MTSI) division with minimal direction. The right applicant with have a primary specialty in structure steel and welding; a complete knowledge of industry standards, plans and specifications; and will be capable of interpreting project plans along with the ability to perform shop, field, structural steel and welding inspections. The strongest candidate will possess a demonstrated familiarity with various common job site conditions, problems encountered in assigned territory, and proper procedures for rectification of such issues. This position requires direct client contact and may act as client-contractor-Project Manager Liaison.
Qualified candidates must have 3 years or more experience in structural steel and welding inspection. Current American Welding Society (AWS), Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) & ICC Structural Steel and Welding certification are required. Additionally, ICC Reinforced Concrete Certification & American Society for Non-destructive Testing (ASNT) Level 2 with Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Dyepenetrant Testing (PT) are desired.
Civil/Geotechnical Engineer – Sonora
Condor seeks an experienced Civil and/or Geotechnical Engineer to work out of our Sonora office on engineering projects. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to some or all of the following: field data collection, data analyses, design and stability calculations, final design, and construction observations for civil and geotechnical engineering projects associated with tunnels, caves, associated structures, retaining walls, earthwork, and slope stabilization. Projects also may include water retention and conveyance structures, rehabilitation and construction, construction management, etc. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with owners and contactors.
A Masters Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering is required, but a Bachelors Degree with equivalent experience will be considered. A Civil Engineering Registration (California) is desired, or ability to obtain within one year, with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Structural design experience would be a plus. Previous geotechnical work experience should include construction in soft ground as well as hard rock.
Compensation commensurate with education, experience, and registration.
